Tonight's beer tasting

Hangar 24 mix pack was okay. I liked the pale ale from it. It had a touch of hops which is plenty for me. Triple Voo doo Inception triple, not a fan. Karl strauss tower 20 imperial ipa, I liked. Sierra Nevada hoptimum imperial ipa, not bad!

This weeks breakfast

This is my second time making this recipe. It's compliments of Sunset magazine (Recipe). It is so yummy. I use whole wheat pitas, avocado, hard boiled egg, arugula, non fat Greek yogurt, a whole jar of roasted red Peppers and prosciutto I've crisped up in the microwave.

Awesomeness!  We hit up the Tapas Bar at the Whole Foods El Segundo for Beer Brunch with the Waffle Lady.  The Beers were from Iron Fist Brewery in Vista, CA.

I have only had chicken and waffles once (at Hash House a-go-go in Vegas).  Those were great tasting and the presentation was phenomenal but cannot compare to the Waffle Lady's.  The waffle was, I believe, partially cornmeal and not sweet like traditional waffles.  The chicken also had a cornmeal component. I indulged in some "real" butter and syrup.  It...was...amazing.  Jeanne, the Waffle Lady, came to our table and told us her story.  She was so friendly and genuine.  She even gave us a box of mix (below).

We were given 4 beers; Renegade Blonde, Hired Hand, Velvet Glove and the Gauntlet (an Imperial IPA) from  Iron Fist Brewing.  I really enjoyed the Hired Hand and Velvet Glove.

I had never been to a burlesque before.  I had a good time.  There was a music trio in the corner playing jazz and swing as the ladies performed.  Offstage, the performers dressed in vintage glam.  They looked beautiful.  Due to my recent increase in calories and the fact that I was driving, I sipped on vodka / sodas with lime.  Ideally it would have been a dirty Beefeater martini.
